The Ecological Landcape Alliance defines ecological landscaping as "a method of designing, building, and maintaining landscapes that considers the ecology of a site and creates gardens that enhance the surrounding environment for the benefit of humans and all other life in the ecosystem." With ecological landscaping, you can ensure that your propery's garden and lawn is as sustainable as possible.

Step 3: Research ways you can start landscaping sustainably. Mass.gov's Lawns and Landscaping will help you to understand how your lawn care affects the environment, as well as giving you many suggestions for how you can make your lawn more sustainable.
